Persecute

PERMISSIONS BY GARY LEE KAROPCZYK MICHIGAN

Persecute= to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict, specifically to cause to suffer because of belief.

When was the last time that you were persecuted because of your beliefs in Jesus Christ? Does any professing Christian have any clue at all what true persecution is? Although this type of persecution may not be spiritual but is alive and well in this country and that being the persecution of the elderly, by the government, friends and family just because they are old, outdated and worthless in the eyes of the afore mentioned people. So yes in that respect, the elderly know what persecution is. I am speaking here of course about spiritual persecution because of our relationship to God.   Many times I have witnessed crying moaning and sobbing emanating from a Christian because old Joe Smith the atheist down the street flipped them off when they walked by.  Or perhaps you have been called a religious fanatic, a retard or a sissy because you are a Christian.  Or perhaps you are asked a question from another atheist that you can’t answer and they make fun of you because you don’t know squat about your own book of fables.  Prayer was taken out of our schools; the Ten Commandments were taken off the wall at the local courthouse. Instead of Merry Christmas it is now Happy Holidays. If you are allowed to display the Nativity Scene you must also display Santa Clause just to be politically correct.   Maybe you can't distribute religious tracts at work or the local mall because it will offend the resident unbeliever.  In you eyes, is that religious persecution?  In a small sense yes it is but it's more of an inconvenience than anything else. Perhaps it's the beginnings of something much larger looming on the horizon.  But for all intents and purposes that is not true persecution in its most vile form.

Thank the Almighty daily that you were born in America and haven't had to endure the persecution that Christians around the world are experiencing as we speak.  The New Testament Church was burned at the stake, torn asunder, crucified, beheaded, used as human torches, exiled, chopped into tiny pieces, thrown to lions and wild dogs, stoned, imprisoned, tortured at the hands of some of the most vile and petrifying human beings ever born. Have we been persecuted in America? Not by a long shot. Will we ever be persecuted? Perhaps because I can see little things here and there that has reared their ugly heads.

Are we, as Christians, ready for persecution in its purest form? Sad to say, I don't think we are.  You may say “Well that will never happen in this country because we are a Christian nation."   Are we a Christian nation?  Look around, what do you see? Take a good long unbiased look at what this country once was and what it has become.  Many Christians are weak, milksop, spineless believers that have had life handed to them on a silver platter.  Make no mistake my friends if true persecution does come to these shores, many, many of us won’t be prepared!

God has blessed us yes but He has also warned us time and again that there will be trials and tribulations such as this world has never known. The Christians abroad know exactly how it feels but us pew sitting, nodding off, looking at our watches waiting for the game on Sunday Christians have not a clue.   Oh poor Mary had to cook all the soup for the monthly soup supper held in that brand spanking new "utility wing" built for only 250,000 dollars. Oh poor Mary was so fatigued and persecuted by all of that soup because it had to be just so!   Hey instead of training up missionaries let’s start a softball league so that we can bring in more people to the church.  Yes indeed, bribery is such a good idea to get people saved.  Hey I have a novel idea, let's actually preach God's Word with fervor, passion and being lead by the Holy Spirit.

Many Christians have become soft, complacent, uncaring, conceited, self-serving and lovers of self rather than God. Now I ask you, is the picture of a church ready for persecution?  I am blessed to have been born in America and yes, I have taken that for granted at times but it's time to listen up and get prepared because this won’t last forever.

"And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write:  The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of the creation of God, says this:  I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. Because you say, I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing."  and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked."   (Revelation 3: 14-17).

Sound familiar? It should. Even after all of the blessings bestowed upon us in this country and the churches, we have still decided to turn our backs on God.  We are not, and I repeat, we are not ready for the persecution that's coming. We had better prepare now. God is calling us to wake up and smell the coffee. He promises to be with us until the end of time but let us hope that the choices we make now are the correct ones, and if they are Jesus will be there to help us battle through whatever befalls us.

"He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."  (Revelation 3: 21).

FEAR IS NOT OF GOD, SO DON'T WALK IN FEAR. GOD IS LOVE AND HE LOVES YOU AND HE HAS PLANS FOR YOU,

Jeremiah 29:11

Amplified Bible

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the
trickery which the delusive glamour of his sin may play on him]. 14 For we have become fellows with Christ (the Messiah) and share in all He has for us, if only we hold our first newborn confidence and original assured
expectation [in virtue of which we are
believers] firm and unshaken to the end.

Think of Me!
Think of me!
When the skies turn gray,
As storms form and come your way,
When the winds blow-
And the rain starts to flow,
As tears from heaven fall your way.

Think of me!
As you walk in the rain-
Trying to catch a drop on your tongue,
Waiting for just the right one,
But missing all but a very special one.

Think of me!
When the storms of life come-
As they try to shake you from my grip,
Try as they will to make you slip.
Do not let your mind wander as the storms come to you,
For that is the only real power the storms have you see;
To play tricks in your mind to make you go blind-
To the truth that will set you free.

Think of me!
When skies turn gray and rain falls on you.
Do not let life blind your eyes in good or bad times,
For that is the evil ones trick.
Think of me always and listen my child
For I will not let you go!
Think of me and do as I say
And have faith above all-
And you will see just how glorious it can be
When tears from heaven, make you think of me.

Stone Hearts
Stone hearts so they say
Hearts that are lost and will not obey
Wandering around thinking all is all right
While they are fooled and blinded to the light
As there hearts sink farther down to the ground
And inside deep, deep, down, know something is not quite right!
Stone hearts are hard, heavy, Cold and alone
And at times wish they too had a home
If only they would obey and come to the light this very day
But what of the children of the light
Have they really shined, so bright?
Did they open their arms and their hearts of warmth?
So the children of stone could see
The Fathers grace and mercy
And be blessed continually
Or did they move away?
Walking on the street the other way
Stone Hearts so they say
Amazing to see, for God's creation cries out to thee
Just look at that very tree
It reaches into the sky with arms stretched out
Spreading forth its leaves with a silent joyful shout!
For in its own way, it praises God for all that He has done
For little things such as the rain and the sun
And in return, the tree gives its breath to you and me
So stone hearts can you see,
There are many warm hearts crying out for thee
For if God loves us, and even provides for a tree
How much more His love is for thee!
Stone hearts do not turn away
For God loves you to this very day
No matter what you have done
He is still there waiting for you just like the prodigal son
His love is true full and free
And His arms are stretching out so much farther than that tree
For before you were born He knew
And He planned your salvation too
So stone hearts look to Him so you may see
His arms stretched out and nailed to that very tree!
Why you ask did He? And how could it be?
It's simple stone heart
He loves you, can't you see?

Before I Go

When my life has reached its very end,

 And I take that final breath;

I want to know I've left behind,

 Some "good" before my death.

I hope that in my final hour,

In all honesty I can say:
That somewhere in my lifetime,

I have brightened someone's day.

That maybe I have brought a smile

To someone else's face,

And made one moment a little sweeter

While they dwelled here in this place.

Lord, please be my reminder

And whisper softly in my ear,
To be a "giver," not a "taker,"
In the years I have left here.

Give to me the strength I need,

Open up my mind and my soul

That I might show sincere compassion,

And love to others before I go.

For if not a heart be touched by me,

And not a smile was left behind ..
Then the life that I am blessed with,

Will have been a waste of time.

With all my heart, I truly hope

To leave something here on earth ..
That touched another, made them smile

And gave to my life ...  worth.

Life's Storms

AUTHOR: MARK THOMPSON 1-15-03

We are such fragile creations in this world.
We form habits some good some bad.
We fall in to relations, that led us into temptations.
Creating years, of chains of events,
that we have no control over.
Mounting emotions. Moving from place to place.
Not allowing ourselves to be who we are.
But instead what we have become.
As life goes by almost seemingly unnoticed by us.
We begin to wake up.
And see what is around us.
We find ourselves in the middle of a ragging storm.
Full of emotions, and uncontrollable habits.
That seem to us in their grip.
A storm of financial debt.
As the storm rages in our lives, we have become weak,
And unable to see any way out.
It is at this moment, that we must open our eyes, and see that,
We are not alone, in the storm.
For the Living God,
has provided us a way out. Own voices.
To not ask, is to sadden him Because he wants to help his children.
He is the one who can com the storm in our lives.
And in doing so, we realize we can trust him.
Thus increasing our faith in him.
Our belief, and love for him.
Knowing that it was he that guided us through the storms.
