DEEPEN YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH GOD

Make some time either now or as soon as you can to spend time in the presence of God.

How is your communication with God? How much of your day is spent with Him?
He knows our heart but He asks us to express our  love for Him.
It may be helpful for you to use the following ideas to deepen your experience in God  -

1.  Listen to some praise and worship music, there is so much available in the christian book stores or other stores, as well as sites on computer, christian radio channels. Be aware and selective for  there are some songs that do not glorify God and speak untruths.Close your eyes while listening to the worship music, to eliminate distractions, and dwell on the presence of God.
I prefer to set my morning alarm clock to a favored christian radio channel and I wake up to praise music and spend the first hour of my mornings listening to radio ministry programs before I begin my day. What a splendid way to be awakened and start your day.

2.  Read some Psalms aloud , play an audio tape of a favorite reader reading Psalms, or if you can sing them. They were written to music, make your own tune or use one that was written already for them. Some church books have Psalms in music form, already written that you can sing to and I am sure you can borrow or purchase such a book.  Whether you think you are a singer or not, your songs of praise are joyful to God.  He says so!

3.  Write a song of praise or a poem or even just a simple letter to God, that describes who He is to you and what He has done for you and how He has affected your life. Some people keep a daily journal, others read daily devotionals. Whatever works for you.

4.  Take a walk or drive if you can, and praise God in everything that you see, hear, feel, touch, or smell. Take the time, MAKE the time. Life today is too full of rushing here and there, overloaded with "things to do". Find that quiet place that works for you and ponder about God, His creations.

5.  Write down a list of personal names in which you have come to know God, examples like:
Father, Friend, Counselor, Comforter, Protector, Almighty, Ever Present, All in All , etc..... more are shared on another page of this site.

The peace, calm, love, and comfort that one desires in their life  is accessed through God. The deep longing in the heart , feeling a yearning for something to fill the constant feeling of aloneness  people experience, but can never quite put a finger on it, can be filled in a real and permanent way right now, for today meets change...
So try God, why bother searching elsewhere? GOD is NOT a temporary fix, He is real and very permanent and everlasting . God is not just an hour on sunday or an hour for bible study or someone to turn to for a "quick fix". God is everything, an everyday experience.  He can be your everything.
Imagine someone who loves you unconditionally..... that would be God.

Think about this; you might share your day with a close friend at your side sharing your thoughts and desires of your heart, and together laugh or cry , or you call someone on the phone when you get a chance and tell them about something that happened to you. They are someone you can talk to that cares about you, but there is no guarantee they are always going to be available to listen and perhaps  sometimes they cannot.
God can be your best friend and He is  always there to listen and comfort you.

                                           God loves you!

Sinners Prayer

A  Sinners Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus,
Forgive me a sinner.
I believe in my heart
that you died
for my sins.
Even though I know
I am not worthy of You,
I ask You to be Lord of my life. Right now,
I turn from my sins and  open the door of my
heart and life.
Wipe away all of
my sins known
and unknown alike.
Thank You for what
You have done Jesus.
Amen.

I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live,
yet not I, but Christ liveth in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh,
I live by the faith of the Son of God,
who loved me, and gave himself for me.
    --Galatians 2:20

There are people who can say they have had a very dramatic moment when they came to Christ, they can name the exact day and hour. I used to feel like something was wrong with me because I could not name a specific day nor time when I trusted in Jesus and my heart changed, my life changed ......... forevermore.
Others have a less dramatic, sort of gradual growing and changing experiences and cannot put their finger on a specific day or time of change.  It doesn't make anyone better than another, we all experience life differently and come to Jesus in our own unique ways.

The point is that you did  come to Jesus  and believe in your heart, and confessed your sins and asked forgiveness, you do  trust in Him, and you do believe in Him and what He has done for you on the cross, and you now have your own personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

I am glad that you do, and if you don't I pray you will accept Today as your change for a new life through Lord Jesus !
For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence),
6 And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety),
7 And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love.
8 For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep [you] from being idle or unfruitful unto the [full personal] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
9 For whoever lacks these qualities is blind, [spiritually] shortsighted, seeing only what is near to him, and has become oblivious [to the fact] that he was cleansed from his old sins.

PRAYER JOURNEY By Katherine Kehler

Have you ever taken the time to evaluate your journey with God? Are you growing in your love relationship with Him? You may be thinking, "Can you really know if you are growing spiritually?"

Yes, there are ways you can evaluate. One way is to think through your prayer journey.

Are you praying more? Because prayer is talking with God, ask yourself if your communication with Him is getting better.

The following are some of the elements in my prayer journey that show me that I am growing spiritually (this is over a period of 32 years). I encourage you to take the time to think through your prayer journey.

1. Beginning to trust in His promises -- "Up to this time, you have not asked a single thing in my name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full" (John 16:25).

2. Asking Specifically -- you will recognize when your prayers are answered if you ask specifically. "For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him. And then helping you do what He wants" (Philippians 2:13).

3. Intercession -- praying for others. "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone" (1 Timothy 2:1).

4. Cultivating a Quiet Heart -- panic and peace cannot occupy the same place. "When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble?" (Job 34:29)

5. Resting, Trusting, Leaning -- "But I have stilled and quieted my soul...." Psalm 131:2

6. Thankfulness, Praise and Worship -- "A single grateful thought toward heaven is the most complete prayer." ~ Gotthold Lessing

 7. Spiritual Warfare -- "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of the dark world and against the forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 5:12).

8. Pray without ceasing. Talk to God about everything -- "Pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

"The real reason for prayer is intimacy with our Father." ~ Oswald Chambers

Father, we know You want to have a close, growing relationship with You. Lord, we also want to know You more. Deep within our souls we want to know You. Amen
